Boomerang

Contemporary Aboriginal art is a vital part of the world's oldest continuous cultural tradition. It is also one of the most brilliant and exciting areas of modern art.

A boomerang is a thrown tool, typically constructed as a flat aerofoil, that is designed to spin about an axis perpendicular to the direction of its flight.

The boomerang has been historically used for hunting by Australian Aborigines.  They are commonly thought of as an Australian icon.
